I have heard that petroleum based products can leech some of the minerals out of your skin, so be careful! When I try the coconut oil, I'll review the results.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-16258808.post-1162445037522411602006-11-02T00:23:00.000-05:002006-11-02T00:23:00.000-05:00When you dry off, pat yourself instead of rubbing....When you dry off, pat yourself instead of rubbing. Rubbing removes lipids, which is what keeps our skin soft. And use a body cream instead of lotion. That increases lipids.

~KristiKristihttps://www.blogger.com/profile/10408986161900668410noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-16258808.post-1162443491569292652006-11-01T23:58:00.000-05:002006-11-01T23:58:00.000-05:00Thanks for all the comments and tips! When he lived in Alaska, he poured on Baby Oil when coming out of the shower -- we've started using olive oil that way this year (seems to be working). I would also agree with the humidifier -- makes a big difference.

[And I'm going to try that "Renew" w/ Melaleuca on my family - Thanks Martha!]Jodihttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07724180634582208804noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-16258808.post-1162386820940356572006-11-01T08:13:00.000-05:002006-11-01T08:13:00.000-05:00Hi Tammy,We have a whole house humidifier (pretty ...Hi Tammy,

We have a whole house humidifier (pretty easy to install; they run about $100) and that helps A LOT, especially if your sinuses get too dry normally. Also, I just got a new lotion last week, Curell. It works great, very soothing. I've used it in the past but don't remember it being so soothing and mositurizing.

TrixieAnonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-16258808.post-1162386498212875512006-11-01T08:08:00.000-05:002006-11-01T08:08:00.000-05:00Guess I'm not the only one to suggest vaseline. :...Guess I'm not the only one to suggest vaseline. :O) If you rub it in while your skin is slightly damp it seems to absorb quicker.Melodyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/05093564684135957653noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-16258808.post-1162384996155560942006-11-01T07:43:00.000-05:002006-11-01T07:43:00.000-05:00In April of last year, I switched my family to the...In April of last year, I switched my family to the all natural Melaleuca products, and we have enjoyed wonderful skin! Melaleuca has a lotion called "Renew", and it beat "Eucerin" in a "blind test." It will zap dry skin in no time. It even cured my crocodile skin thighs that I got every winter! :-)The other great thing is that it is not greasy! When my friend told me about it, I thought she was stretching a little until I gave it a shot. It is the most incredible lotion on earth!Martha Chttps://www.blogger.com/profile/05741481544941940641noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-16258808.post-1162380313219214842006-11-01T06:25:00.000-05:002006-11-01T06:25:00.000-05:00Amy said what I would say. You know, I've tried all sorts of things for my daughter and I. We both have sensitive skin/alleries/ecezma that gets worse in winter. The *best* thing I've found so far is just plain old Vaseline. I even use a small amount on my face lately because it was peeling so badly. It locks in moisture amazingly well and doesn't give me acne (I can't use most expensive face creams). And it's cheap!Amyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08691765466320690473noreply@blogger.com
