~O! Say But I'm Glad~

This morning as I was putting my groceries away, I started singing this song:

There is a song in my heart today,
Something I never had;
Jesus has taken my sins away,
O! say, but I’m glad.

Refrain:
O! say, but I’m glad, I’m glad,
O! say, but I’m glad,
Jesus has come and my cup’s overrun;
O! say, but I’m glad.

And why, you ask, was I singing this song? It took me a second to realize, then I smiled. I had purchased gladiolus on sale, and I was going to plant them! Glads...I'm glad...get it? :-)

I hope they bloom as pretty as the package label! This is my first time to plant summer bulbs. Last year, I made the mistake of waiting until after the last frost date to start working out in my flower beds. Well, then I had a lot of work to do before I could start planting anything! As the weather permits, I'm going to get outside and work in the soil!

Today is a darkish day. I think it is supposed to rain sometime this afternoon. At least it isn't snow (though I hear that is coming our way later this week!).

Have a GLAD day!!!

  1. Glads are so pretty. I have some pink and yellow ones in my yard, and they're just so cheerful. Hope yours do as well as mine do!

  2. Oh I just love that song! What pretty flowers you have picked out. I haven't started mine yet this year, but soon.

    Please don't TELL me Michigan is getting more snow :( I do not like the snow this time of year though my husband would take it any time of the year.

    Can't wait to see your finished gardens!

  3. My front yard has gone from all green to all white tonight. I hope my tulips don't freeze. They are up about inch and a half. I guess its the joy of living where I live.

  6. I love that song too, but one time I mistakingly mixed it up with the tune to "I'm Popeye the Sailor Man" - so now when I sing it I think of Popeye! :)
