Kevin had Labor Day off from work, and we spent some time doing stuff around the house. One thing Kevin did that I greatly appreciated was that he fixed the kitchen drain which was leaking.
After lunch we decided to go visit a nature preserve that isn't too far from our house. We took the 1.9 mile hike around the lake, and had a great time together.
Here are some pictures:
We saw a pair of swans (such pretty birds), geese, some unrecognizable water fowl, a beaver lodge and plenty of evidence in the surrounding forest of beavers cutting down trees, and a blue heron. The only disappointment was that the position of the trail obscured the lake for most of the hike.
It was such a nice day for a hike and we weren't bothered by pesky mosquitoes. It wasn't busy either. We only saw a few people during our hike. "A lovely time was had by all."
