~Why those tiny needles?~

I picked up my lace knitting again (after a hiatus of a year and a half!) and I've been making grand progress.

I changed the needle type and size, and things went so much better than the first time around. I started completely over, and I have about 22 inches of lace now!

My WIP:

And the previous attempt (shown below the piece I'm working on):

Oh, and the answer to the question? In part it is a mystery to me. I just love to make lace, be it with a tatting needle, crochet hook, or knitting needles. It takes more time, and the end result is small, but I enjoy the process, and I love the finished product!

Any ideas for what I should do with the lace once I finish it? I'm thinking of edging an apron. I don't want to make yards and yards, just enough for a smallish project!

Beautiful!!! I love crocheting, but don't know I could handle THAT tiny of needles! :)

I'm so impressed! So you make this by hand? That sounds like it would be time consuming, but it looks like you end up with a beautiful result!

Oh, Tammy, I just love this! Using it on an apron sounds cute. Used as edging on a set of pillowcases would be lovely, too. I look forward to seeing what you do with it. :o)

Do women still wear lace on their collars or cuffs?
What about on the top of the cover sheet? It's so beautiful I would hate to see it put somewhere it is not seen and admired.

How lovely. I was wondering where the lace had gotten too.

I buy antique handmade lace for next to nothing because I admire the workmanship so much and I never know what to do with the bits and scraps - I think I should get it all out and embellish a pillow front or something! Yours is lovely and since you are a beautiful seamstress and very creative you'll make it just the right length for the perfect project! Just don't hide it away somewhere!

How beautiful! I haven't tried knitting lace, but your results are so lovely. I can see these on pillowcases...maybe embroidered with your initial?

You did a very nice job!!
