The driveway runs along one side of the house, so I only have the one side to do any planting in. A bed runs along the length of the house. I am very happy with how things are growing this year! My perennials have come back nice and strong, and are blooming or are about to bloom. For perennials, I have: two echinacea plants, one lavender plant, two carnation plants, a Shasta daisy, a small variety of bleeding heart, and a few other things. I only had to get a few annuals to fill in the spaces this year, which was my goal! I would still like to plant a rose bush and then I will consider this bed complete. I plan on moving some things around to optimize the plants, but I'll do that in the fall when the blooming season is over.
I already posted this picture, but these are my lilacs. I planted allysum along the border and I really like it!
I'll have to get some close ups of the pretty flowers! I'm enjoying a huge bouquet of carnations! Maybe tomorrow...

how fun! we are going to be a lilac for the back yard. then I really, really want to get some daffs and ... ugh, can't think of the other flower name (blooms at some time...hyacinth? whatever. on the side of the house. I need some ideas for my back yard.
