~Company Tonight!~

One thing that Kevin and I enjoy is having company over. I used to be quite flustered over having people over, but I have learned to relax and not worry so much about how things turn out.

Tonight's dinner went really well. We had:
Dripped Beef
Mashed Potatoes with gravy
Green beans with almonds*
Ambrosia
Butter rolls with jam
Swedish Apple Pie with a scoop of ice cream

We had a wonderful time of fellowship!

*Here's the "recipe" for Green Beans with Almonds. I make them quite often when we have company.

Green beans (two cans)
butter (about 2 tablespoons, adjust as necessary)
slivered almonds (about 2 or 3 tablespoons)
lemon juice (about 1 tablespoon) (you can leave this out, but it does lend a tangy taste to the green beans)

Heat the green beans in a pan. In a separate sauce pan, melt butter and slightly brown slivered almonds. Stir and watch carefully, because the butter will burn easily. Stir in lemon juice and drain green beans, mix butter mixture into green beans.

These are so good! I never measure, so these are just estimates. It doesn't have to be exact!

I just tried the dripped beef recipe. YUMMY! My husband is chomping at the bit to eat dinner and it's only 5 O'clocks! Thanks for the great recipe Tammy!

Nikki, let me know how your family likes them!

Mrs. Elliott, I'm so glad your roast turned out good! This is my husband's favorite roast! I could probably make this once a week and he wouldn't get tired of it! =)

Yum! Yum! Yum!!! When can our family come over for dinner? I'll volunteer to wash the dishes afterward! :)

Oh... I have to tell you... we were at a restaurant Saturday and I saw a girl that looked just like you (you have twins everywhere!!). I said to my family "She looks JUST like Tammy!!!" and my family knew exactly who I was talking about!! Just shows how much I blog and talk about blogging, huh? :)

His,
Mrs. U

Hi Tammy, I made your Green Beans with Almonds tonight, and my husband, my 1-year-old son and I all enjoyed them! The lemon juice does add a tangy, interesting, almost surprising flavor. I sprinkled the beans with sea salt and fresh ground black pepper.
