There are certain fabrics that just make my heart go pitter-patter with excitement, and gingham is one of them. Last fall, I was out with a friend and found two pieces of vintage apron prints. I was ecstatic to find them, and made up aprons for my Etsy shop.
Currently for sale in my shop:
And then I was clicking links the other day and came across Rick Rack Attack, an online shop which sells vintage aprons. Just look at one of the aprons they have for sale!!!

Adorable aprons! I have two embroidered gingham aprons that my grandmother made. I love them, too.
I love those. I remember my grandma having aprons like that, that she had made and cross-stitched on. Some with the chicken scratch stitch. I just found out she had done those herself. My mom gave me a hand embroidered pillowcase that the hand crocheted lace had come unraveled to fix. She told me my grandma had made it and had done that type of thing all her life. Funny, I never saw her doing it while I was growing up.:(
I just adore aprons...and THESE are just tooo cute!
I love your blue apron! I kept my pink one for myself for a bit, but it was in such good condition that I never did wear it. And I have way too many aprons, so I decided to list it on Rick Rack Attack.

I love the apron! Makes me want to purchase some gingham and make a couple of chicken scratch embroidery aprons! I'm with you on gingham...there's just something so homey about it. If fact, I'm going to make some chicken scratch embroidery gingham windown toppers for my windows when we ever get the living room remodeled.
Hi Tammy - I really like your apron - my Nanny had the very same one - in yellow! I guess it was very popular! You did a lovely job with the blue! I have a thing for gingham too and rick rack with gingham is just about sewing heaven! I like gingham bias tape a lot - but it is getting hard to find. Vintage trims are pretty popular again! Happy crafting!
How cute, I love those both.
BTW, loved the photo of you and hubby!
