~Work Pictures~

Here are some pictures of our living room/dining room. Hopefully they will give you an idea what we're doing!

The dividing doorway between the two rooms is going to be extended on both sides by about 18 inches. This will make the rooms more defined, give me a little more wall space, and give us options for arranging furniture.

The previous owner put all the "woodwork" up. It wasn't really woodwork--just planks that he had stained and nailed in place. It wasn't installed well at all. I disliked it from the moment we walked into the house to look at it! I know it's not a "big" thing to have to "live with" but the living room and dining room were both rooms that if we were going to paint and try to make them look nice, we knew there was a lot of work that we'd have to put into them!

The walls were painted with a paint that looks and feels like sand paper. Now maybe some of you have the same paint, so please don't be offended, but I can't stand it! A friend of ours from church is going to come over with his sprayer and texture the walls for us!

Meanwhile a different friend from church is helping Kevin with the woodwork and floor.

I don't know how long this project will last, but we're hoping for less than a month!

Do you ever watch those shows about selling a house and people walk in a say how terrible it is, then the house gets re-done and they walk in and can’t believe how wonderful it is.

We you are not one of those people. You walked into that house and saw the door way and the yucky paint and said yuck! BUT, you also saw the potential in the house and I applaud you for that!

Whew. Hang in there! I do know how much pressure home remodeling can be.

And on a side note......AUDRA TAUGHT ME HOW TO KNIT! :O) I am hooked.

Of course I can only do knit and purl, cast on and bind off, but that'll do for a start. I am the washcloth queen!
