I'm sure I won't have bakeries knocking my door down, but I am so pleased with the results of my bagel-making venture!
I didn't take pictures along the way, because sweet Julieann did a great job with that! Click here to see her step-by-step pictures she took from making bagels, along with the recipe.
I was so happy with the results! Bagels are expensive at the store, and the ingredients for them are so inexpensive! I will definitely make them again! Next time I want to try to mix in different ingredients into the dough before I shape them, and maybe add some whole wheat flour.

Good job Tammy. When do you find the time for all that you do?
Looks yummy...must try those..
I never thought of giving bagels a try. I'll have to do that sometime soon! good job!
Awww, I just read that they are bread machine bagels. I as yet don't have a bread machine. But I will definitely keep this marked for the future.
YAY!!! They look great Tammy!!! My son loves Blueberrys in his bagels, I have yet to try that--if you do, let me know.
And for Jennifer, with the comment above me--there are so many recipes on the internet for bagels, that don't require a bread machine--This recipe just happens to be my favorite:) Don't be discouraged.
Julieann:)
Tammy,
You just amazing. Who would have thought to make bagels from scratch.
This is why I love visiting your blog.
I never would have thought to make the bagels from scratch were it not for Julieann's post!
Joyce, the answer to your question...well, I don't do some of the things I really should do. LOL But really, these bagels didn't take much time at all to make! Certainly much less time than a batch of cookies!
They turned out nice...I am sure they were yummy! I have never tried making bagels...maybe someday! : )
