~Soapnuts~

Have you heard of soapnuts? They are very intriguing to me!

Here is a description from a site that sells soapnuts (there are many sites that sell soapnuts, this site just happened to have a good description):
Maggie’s Soap Nuts™ are the only laundry soap that grows on trees! Truly effective, 100% natural and safe for your most sensitive skin. Soap Nuts™ are the dried fruit of the Chinese Soapberry tree. They contain saponin, a natural cleaner used for thousands of years to clean clothes, just like the plants used by Native Americans for washing.

Simply put a few Soap Nuts into the included cotton sack and drop it in your laundry. Your clothes come out clean, vibrant, and soft. Replace your laboratory detergents and softeners with the soap made from Nature by Nature. Your clothes, your skin, your family, and your planet will thank you.

I've yet to give them a try, but from all I've read online, they sound like a very healthy, inexpensive alternative to laundry soap. Additionally, you can add your own scent to your wash by using a few drops of pure essential oil.

Several months ago, I combined great sales and coupons to get quite a large amount of laundry soap. I think I still have about 7 or 8 bottles left. Most of it is unscented and dye-free, so I am planning on using the rest of it before I buy my soapnuts. Plus, soapnuts are available on Amazon.com, so I am saving up my Swagbucks money to make my purchase!

Please let me know if you've tried them, and how they work for you!

I read about these a few months ago and my interest is really piqued!!! I'd love to try them! I'll have to research them more, too, to see if they are good. I'll keep checking back to see if anyone else has used them!!

Hello Tammy, Soap Nuts are great!! I have used them for Four years for everything. Ever since Maggie, of Maggie's Soap Nuts introduced me to them. I now use our laundry liquid not just for laundry but also in the shower and for general cleaning. Maggie made me the daytoday manager of the business so call me for some free samples for your friends. Soap nuts and our laundry liquid are the only detergent in the world with no synthetic chemicals. Happy washing. Regards, Dariel

Did the planet thank you yet? :) :)

I know moms whose kids have skin allergies/sensitivities swear by them. I've never tried them myself.

So does that free sample offer still stand, Anonymous?? :)

Good job, Tammy! I just stumbled upon you today.

It's caring souls like you that will help clean up this mess we've made of our planet.

There is a new site about soap nuts at www.soapnuts.pro that I need to share with you folks. I can't recommend it more highly. It's NOT another store or sales site. It's an "everything you ever wanted to know about soap nuts" kinda' site. I've never seen anything remotely as comprehensive. You'll enjoy it if you haven't discovered it yourself yet.

I have learned a TON - and have realized that there is a bunch of stuff written inline that just isn't true. It even explains why that is. The site helped me understand things that didn't make sense before.

I'm getting way better laundry results from my soap nuts now, and am using them to replace a lot of other cleaners, too.

I used to ask myself where soap nuts have been all this time if they are so good. So, why are we just now learning about such an amazing tree and fruit? Given that it could change so much in our lives for the better, and actually be one of the most significant green discoveries of all time (up there with solar power and windmills), doesn't that seem a bit weird??? NOW I understand and it's fascinating.

A whole lot has been happening with soap nuts in the last year or so. There's a new 18X concentrated soap nuts liquid. Yep, 18X!!! Whoa... I can use one TEASPOON and do a large load just fine. A tiny little bottle packs as much punch as that big jug of Tide. THAT'S AMAZING!

Keep up the great work! Kudos to you! I've bookmarked you and will visit again. :-)

I'm glad the awareness of soap nuts in increasing. We have been using them now for almost three years, and would never go back to conventional detergent.
