~No Bake Cookies~

On Sunday afternoon, I tried my hand at no-bake cookies. They were really good! I used the recipe here, if you feel inclined to whip up a batch for yourself. At this time of year, it is really nice to have a little treat without heating up the whole house! I've never made them before, but I sure have enjoyed them before! If I had know how very easy they were, I probably would have made them a long time ago.

That's almost like our family recipes. The only difference is, we add peanut butter! Mmmm!

I received a great deal of requests by my grandkids when they lived around here for bake sales at school. Sometimes its difficult to make the kids happy. At least it was back in those days.

Hi Tammy... I thought it coincidental to come across this posting on these cookies as I've recently tried to make them. They turned out terrible! they were hard and very dry and crumbly..
My recipe wasn't very specific in how long to boil them so that is probably what happened... boiled too long..
I'm going to give your recipe a try... I'm sure they will turn out just fine!
thanks for sharing the recipe!

Those cookies are YUM! I made them from a similar (if not same) recipe from Tammy's Recipes a while back: the first lot was GREAT, the second lot went rock hard - cooked the mix for a bit too long.

Another no-bake cookie that's wonderful is:

-125g coconut
-50g cocoa powder
-1 pack "marie" biscuits (not sure of a sub, maybe graham? Marie biscuits are very plain dry biscuits, but sweet ones)
-375mL condensed milk
-Coconut for dusting

Very simple. Bash the biscuits to crumbs in a zip-lock bag with a rolling pin. Combine crumbs, coconut, cocoa and milk together and combine well so it's crumbly but can hold together if squished. Roll mixture into small bite-size balls and roll in left over coconut. Put in fridge to cool for at least an hour and then eat!!

YUM!! I have never met anyone who doesn't love the above recipe. :)

My grandma used to make them without the cocoa. I like them that way, too.

You know Andy called these no-bakes "Quaker Droppings" once and the name just stuck. :) I get requests by name for these.

Yes Rebecca I was the one that sent it to you. Tammy I think I entered our family recipe in your cookie thing last year.

These are so quick and easy to make sometimes I whip out a batch when I am home from Lunch. Yummy.

Sandi, I remembered that you posted that recipe, but when I went back to look at the link, it was broken. Hmmm. Do you still have it posted on your blog?
