~Felt Ornaments~

What a hoot! owl ornaments:

I made them all the same, because I'm keeping one, giving one in an ornament exchange, and giving the last one to a friend. I didn't stuff them because, a) I liked the way they looked unstuffed, and b) I was too lazy to get up and get the stuffing.

A keepsake ornament I made for my daughter:

I traced her hand, so it's her hand size, and I embroidered her name and "2010" on the back.

Embroidery and hand sewing isn't something I typically do, so though this was enjoyable it was also a bit of a challenge, as I figured out the best needle to use, the best way to get the stitches to look nice, etc.

Adorable! I love the color choice. And I like how they look unstuffed too.

Hoo Hoo wouldn't like a unstuffed owl. So Cute.
I like the hand ornament, did you think to date it. A new one every year to show her getting bigger.

Oh boy, I love owls!! Those are adorable. I bet they would go like crazy on your Etsy store!

Thank you. :-)

Ashley, the person who designed the pattern does not allow for people to sell them.

That's a bummer, but understandable! And I think it's admirable that you respect their request!

Ashley, I'm a "rule-follower" to the nth degree. LOL

The ornaments are adorable! I really like your version of the owls. My 14 year old daughter likes owls and made a few this past spring, finding the inspiration from the same place you did.

Have you ever done silhouettes?
I am thinking of doing it this spring for Mother's Day gifts (framed paper ones maybe)... and then maybe doing felt versions for Christmas ornaments (like your hand ornament) next Christmas.
