Progress!

I pulled out my sweater again and finished the front:

Now lets see...I have the back and two sleeves to do! At this rate it just might take a while.

Tammy, what are you using to make your sweater? It looks like it will be pretty.

Wow, Tammy! Lovely knitting. Mine's always crooked and a bit holey (not Holy). That's a wonderful skill you've got there :)

That is just so cool. S. told me the other day she wants to learn how to knit.

"Are you sure you don't want to learn crochet first, honey?" (I was hoping, because I can do a little bit of crochet--lefthanded, but I can do it).

No, she was sure, it had to be knitting.

So tell me, did you teach yourself, or did your mother mentor you in the art?

Kristi, I'm using a wool blend DK weight yarn that I purchased at a local yarn shop.

Erin, an older lady taught me the basic knit and purl stitches when I was a teenager. However, she didn't teach me how to follow a pattern, so I never got far, until I checked out a book from the library that had step by step pictures and illustrations in it. The book I got was a children's book, which was way more detailed than the adult books. It was just what I needed to fully understand how to follow patterns. Do you think there is a lady in your church who knows how to knit? My younger sisters learned how to knit from a lady in their church.
