Chicago: Sears Tower

One of our top priorities on our visit to Chicago was the Sears Tower. Friday turned out to be a great day for visiting. The visibility was great, and if we had gone on Saturday, we would have seen a lot of rain clouds. (Click on the pictures to enlarge them)

Looking way, way up!

Some great views from the top:

LOL Mrs. R...I'm not a fan of Oprah's either. :D I guess I had heard she was based in Chicago, but I certainly didn't think of it when we were there!

Is Kevin holding up the building, or is he pushing it down?

My Sunday School teacher and his family just got back from being in Hammond, IN for summer classes. They spent some time in Chicago too while they were there.
Were you afraid of being sooooo high on the tower??

Tammy, I enjoyed your pictures so much. I did notice that SOME people in the background had on coats and others did not. What was the weather like there for this time of year?

I got a big kick out of "Mr. Tammy". We'll see what my husband thinks. ;-)

Courtney, I wasn't afraid at all. We were not outside, I do believe I would have felt a little nervous to be outside, but we were on the top floor, totally enclosed.

HappyMama--the weather was *quite* cool. On Thursday the high was 85, on Friday (when we were there) the high was 65. Quite a drastic dip! I had forgotten to take along my wind breaker, and later in the afternoon I was wishing I had it!

Your Sears Tower photos turned out great! Isn't it refreshing to get away to see something new once in a while? The funny thing is, going away usually reminds us of how blessed we are to have such a nice loving home to go home to.
