Hurrah! It's all done! Everything fits just like I planned!
What I am most excited about is that by thinking through my plan, and adding two shelves, I was able to make a very small closet contain even more than before. Or less, depending on how you look at it, since I did get rid of quite a bit!
These three things have been under my "desk" area in the sewing room ever since I set up my sewing room:
Now there is room in the closet for them, so I'll have room for a chair!
And I usually keep my ironing basket in my sewing room as well. There definitely wasn't room in the closet for my ironing basket before! I did put a smaller basket in here than what I usually use, but that will also help me keep my ironing done (theoretically, anyhow)!
The closet is not completely finished, as I am still sorting through other things in the room, and I will be on the lookout for some containers and baskets that fit my needs exactly!

Wow it looks great!
The shelving was a stroke of genious, Tammy! Everything looks great!
Now if you would just hop on the next plane and come work on my closets...
How WONDERFUL! I thought about posting mine, but I was too ashamed of what would have been the before picture!
BUT, you have inspired me to get in there and I got alot done yesterday.
It looks great!! I bet it feels GOOD! ;-)

Wow! Looks great!
Tammy, it looks fantastic!!! When are you opening your organizing business?! ;)
It feels so nice to be organized! I always feel compelled to start new projects when my sewing stuff looks good!
Tammy, I have been following your closet redo. You're helping me think through some organizational challenges I have in my own house. And you are right about setting boundaries about what we keep (only what will fit in this container, etc.) We were very strict with ourselves when we moved and it really helped a LOT! Now I just need to turn around and apply those same tactics in this house!
Wow, wish my pile of junk looked that good.
Oh by the way, the blog looks great, guess I haven't been around for a while.:0)
Tammy I'm sorry, I thought I'd commented on this already and was just cleaning up my bloglines and realized I hadn't. I love what you did with the closet. Isn't it amazing what a little bit of pre-planning will do! Very very impressed that you took everything into account.
Awesome!
